A Romantic Love Story of Two Poets: When Words Lead to Forever

It started with a poem.

Not one written for each other, but two lives quietly unfolding on separate sides of the world, linked by shared words and quiet admiration.

Jenn and I met on Instagram—two poets writing through grief, growth, and longing.

What began as mutual appreciation for each other’s work soon became something more: late-night conversations, voice notes filled with vulnerability, and eventually a leap of faith that changed everything.

This is our love story—not a fairy tale, but something even better. A real connection born from words, nurtured across oceans, and carried through airports, bus rides, and border crossings ever since.

Here is a short overview of our journey, starting from heartbreak, leading to a remarkable adventure spanning continents, and eventually transitioning to a lifestyle of full-time slow travel around the globe!

We were both recovering heartbroken poets on Instagram (cliché, we know, but it's true) in Feb 2019, where we met and found a fairy tale of a relationship.

It's funny how the universe likes to do these things, right!?

Jenn was living in Canada, and Leon was living in England.

We've shared our physical meeting for the first time in Australia for a Royal Caribbean cruise and our story from there with our followers, fans, and friends on Instagram.

It was a pretty natural and unintentional thing for us to do, really, especially after both being quite active members of the poetry community on Instagram before us connecting.

We read poetry LIVE on Instagram and had a community poetry platform page where we featured and shared others' work for years.

We only recently stopped this when our full-time travels began, as it was too much to manage with our new endeavors.

We got engaged at Aphrodite's Rock in Cyprus after four months and a previous one-month-long date (imagine a first date lasting one month and covering 5 countries; needless to say, we got to know each other QUITE well!).

Travel has always been a part of our journey; Leon moved to Canada with me in September 2019.

Thankfully, we were able to be together throughout the ongoing of 2020, something we are ever grateful for, as so many couples were unable to see one another or be together during that difficult time.

In January 2021, we decided to make some more major life changes. Changing not only our lifestyle but also our careers.

We sold, donated, and stored all of our possessions and rented out our property to head out for the digital nomadic lifestyle.

Go big or go home, right?! It's kind of how we do things…

It's like our motto... our entire relationship required so much trust and faith in both one another and the universe.

A life lived boldly and bravely will indeed be one to be remembered... so here we are, 6 years later, with 42 countries together under our belts...
