I was just thinking about the "Empty Nest Ahead" highway sign that we chose for our banner. When I first saw that sign in my life, I thought it meant loneliness and slowing down.

The reality? It meant SPEEDING UP and Gaining Freedom.

My question for the group: What is the biggest unexpected freedom you’ve gained since your kids launched?

• Mine is: Finally having the budget and freedom to travel full-time. I traded my giant kitchen (with a family of 8 I had a pretty big one) for a suitcase and a global view. Also a little too much freedom with them as communication can be a challenge at times with the distance.
